Narrowboat Session
Recorded live on the Narrowboat Sessions in July 2024, this is a three-song taster EP from Wigan based artist Lindsey Holding. To refer to her simply as a singer songwriter would be a lazy label to apply. Perhaps she can best be described as offering emotionally intelligent Indie folk.
Eschewing traditional folk themes, the songs reflect on relationships from various points of view, both on the inside and from that of an invested observer. There’s a fragile edge to her vocals that add character to her delivery and interest to the listening.
If this is intended as a taste of things to come, then it has worked, as we have been left hungry for more!
For those of you that don’t know The Narrowboat Sessions – it’s a phenomenal resource for both folk music lovers and folk musicians. As its name suggests, the artists visit the narrowboat and record 3 songs live, these are then shared via Facebook, 1 song at a time. Great exposure for the artists, some sessions have had over 500,000 views.
